When dialogue gets tangled

Conversations with loved ones can be challenging. Why do we sometimes miscommunicate or hold back? What does the other person mean? How can we improve our daily dialogue with those who matter most?

Time:7 May 2025 16:00 - 17:00 CEST
Place: Nobel Peace Center
LATE NIGHTS AT THE NOBEL PEACE CENTER

Every Wednesday, the Nobel Peace Center is open until 20:00, with half-price admission from 17:00. And every week, something exciting happens; topical discussions, lectures, film screenings, and themed tours. The events and tours of the exhibitions are included in the ticket, so if you visit us on Wednesday evening, you get extra value for your admission fee.

Many of us have experienced that conversations with our loved ones can become challenging at times. What causes us to sometimes talk past each other? Why do we hold back? What does the other person mean? What can you and I do more of in our daily lives to achieve good dialogue with the people who matter most to us?

This Wednesday, you are invited to explore these questions with us.

We have invited Kulturkompaniet as our hosts. With professional facilitators and actors, they will enact situations that everyone can relate to. We aim to create a space for reflection, to think together about what sometimes happens, and to share tips and tricks to take a small step forward. It will be engaging, fun, and hopefully useful!

Nobel Peace Center's surveys in 2025 show that 47% responded that the climate for dialogue has worsened in recent years. This is an increase from 2021 when 33% reported this. With the legacy of the peace prize laureates, we have therefore developed 8 principles for good dialogue, which you will learn about this evening.
