Artist Talk with Peace Prize Photographer Antoine d'Agata
The Nobel Peace Center is open until 20.00, and admission to the museum and exhibitions is included in the ticket to the Artist Talk.
Be among the first to visit the new exhibition A Message to Humanity and listen to renowned French Magnum photographer Antoine d'Agata as he shares his experience photographing Hibakusha—the survivors of the atomic bombings in Hiroshima and Nagasaki—for the new exhibition.
In November 2024, d'Agata traveled to Japan to capture the powerful, intimate portraits of these courageous individuals as part of the new Peace Prize exhibition, honoring this year’s Nobel Peace Prize laureate, Nihon Hidankyo. The exhibition amplifies the voices of those who lived through one of the darkest chapters in history and highlights the ongoing fight for a world free of nuclear weapons.
During the talk, d’Agata will discuss his role in documenting these stories, the importance of visual storytelling in shaping collective memory, and the deep emotional impact of working with Hibakusha. His photographs not only capture the harrowing aftermath of the bombings but also the enduring strength and resilience of the survivors.
“There is determination in the eyes of the survivors,” he said after his recent trip to Japan.
Don’t miss this opportunity to listen to one of the world’s leading photographers and gain insight into the creative process behind this powerful exhibition.
