Nowhere is the world wide erosion of democracy, fueled by social media disinformation campaigns, more starkly evident than in the authoritarian regime of Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte. Journalist Maria Ressa places the tools of the free press – and her freedom – on the line in defense of truth and democracy. The film is produced, written and directed by award winning director Ramona S. Diaz.

After the screening, there will be an exclusive conversation with director Ramona Diaz and Nobel Peace Prize laureate and editor for Rappler, Maria Ressa.

The film will have English subtitles.

The event is part of the Nobel Peace Center’s Freedom of Expression Festival and is organized in collaboration with Film fra Sør, The U.S. Embassy in Oslo and 3KT.

Food and drinks are for sale at 3KT. Seating both under the open sky and under roof. The event is free and we have plenty of capacity.
