Kahoot! and the Nobel Peace Center join forces for peace education
“The history of the Nobel Peace Prize is full of inspiring individuals and ideas for a more peaceful world. Through the partnership with Kahoot! we will reach out to students across the world with knowledge and skills to make the world a better place for all”, says the Nobel Peace Center’s Executive Director, Kjersti Fløgstad.
The Nobel Peace Center and Kahoot! have signed an agreement making quality content about the Nobel Peace Prize available in an own channel on the Kahoot!-platform.
Providing hope
The Nobel Center is the museum for the Nobel Peace Prize in Oslo – Kahoot!’s home city – and engage visitors in learning about the Nobel Peace Prize laureates’ ideas and work through exhibitions, events and education programmes. Digital teaching tools is an important part of the center’s work to reach out to international students, and in 2022 the Nobel Peace Center partnered with Minecraft to develop two gaming experiences about the Nobel Peace Prize. With the Kahoot! partnership their content will spread even more knowledge to people across the world.
“In a world marked by unrest and conflict it is important to amplify knowledge and ideas that can give young people a sense of hope”, Fløgstad says.
To classroms across the world
“We are proud to work with the Nobel Peace Center to build knowledge and awareness about the Nobel Peace Prize laureates and their inspiring work. We are starting with children, but the message about peace and cooperation is universal, and just as important in the classroom as in the board room, and at home, says Eilert Hanoa, CEO of Kahoot!
The Norwegian-based learning platform is used by more than 8 million teachers across the globe. The Nobel Peace Center channel contains several ready-made Kahoots about the Nobel Peace Prize and inspiring individuals like Malala Yousafzai and last year’s laureate, Narges Mohammadi.
