PROGRAM FOR THE 2020 NOBEL DAYS

The celebration of the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize in Oslo in December will be mainly digital, due to the Covid-19 restrictions. You can join from where you are. See the program below.

Wednesday 9 December 13:00

  • Press conference with the Nobel Peace Prize laureate 2020, the World Food Programme, represented by Executive Director David Beasley.

Thursday 10 December 13:00 CET

  • The Nobel Peace Prize Award Presentation. The Award Presentation includes a Presentation Statement by the Chair of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, Berit Reiss-Andersen, an Acceptance Speech by the Executive Director of the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), David Beasley, and the presentation of the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize to WFP. The broadcast will also show the ceremonial presentation of the medal and diploma to the year’s Peace Prize Laureate in Rome, Italy.
  • The Nobel Peace Prize Exhibition 2020 will be unveiled (digitally). The exhibition will be available on NRK’s website from 10 December, 2020.

FRIDAY 11 DECEMBER

  • Digital Celebration of the Nobel Peace Prize 2020. Executive Director of the World Food Programme, David Beasley, will have a conversation with Executive Director Kjersti Fløgstad of the Nobel Peace Center about WFPs work and how peace and food security are closely linked. The photographer behind this year’s Nobel Peace Prize exhibition, Aida Muleneh, will join the conversation.
  • Afterwards there will be a talk between Ms Fløgstad, Executive Vice president of Hydro, Inger Sethov, CEO of Yara, Svein Tore Holsether and Director General of Norad, Bård Vegar Solhjell. In this conversation, they will discuss how business can play a role in the challenges of combatting hunger and thus contribute to more peaceful societies.
