Fix the Food

When the World Food Programme was announced as the Nobel Peace Prize laureate in October 2020, the link between food and peace was put on the international agenda. Almost a year later, the Nobel Peace Center marked the end of a year of Exploring the Nobel Peace Prize by holding Fix the Food Conference and Festival.
In September 2021 we gathered Nobel Peace Prize laureates, decision makers, peace practitioners and food activists to stake stock of the situation for the world’s hungry and discuss solutions for a more sustainable food system. The conference was live streamed from the Nobel Peace Center to audiences across the world.

"Food is the best vaccine against chaos."
David Beasley, Executive Director, World Food Programme, Nobel Peace Prize laureate 2020
.
After the conference we welcomed to a different kind of food festival! With best, green chefs, to let participants learn to eat more sustainable and hear about the way food can help to build peace.
.
"The link between hunger and armed conflict is a vicious circle: war and conflict can cause food insecurity and hunger, just as hunger and food insecurity can cause latent conflicts to flare up and trigger the use of violence."
Berit Reiss Andersen, Chair, Norwegian Nobel Committee, October 2020
"The food Summit has come and gone but the hard work of transforming our food systems is only just beginning. So please come onboard"
Gunhild Stordalen, EAT's Executive Chair
